iEquip ministry follows the traditional education format in delivering theological training for Native churches. It follows this format primarily for two reasons: (1) Student familiarity with this approach, and (2) accountability that demonstrates progress following the secondary educational standards.

Course Registration
Students may register for a course in two ways, (1) register online, or (2) register on the first day of class with the instructor is preferable and more convent for the students. The charge for course material fee of $5.00 is also due at this time.

Classes
Classes are generally held in churches, or at neutral sites to lessen student travel time. Classes meet for required hours of a student to teacher contact in a classroom setting. When classes meet on a weekly basis, it will generally run for 15 weeks similar to a regular semester.

Block Studies
iEquip primarily offers coursework through block studies. In this format, a class might meet two or three times over three months at prescribed hours per day to fulfill the requirement for student-teacher contact hours. Further, inherent in this format the course allows for flexible scheduling for the students.

Attendance
iEquip offers most of its course in a block study format where participation is vitally important. If a student is absent for one block session, it means he or she will miss a significant amount of course information. This absentee might also suggest a failing grade for the course. For example, a class meets for two block sessions (like two Saturdays), and a student misses one block session, it is significant. Should that happen, it means, the student did not attend class for half of a whole semester. With this scenario, class attendance is critical, and we encourage students to participate in all class sessions.

Credit Hours
iEquip operates on a 15-week semester system. This system means one credit hour course will meet for 50 minutes of class time per week. Over the semester, the class will meet 15 times for lecture, discussion, testing, evaluation, and seminars. Moreover, during the semester, a two-credit hour course will meet twice a week and a three-credit hour will meet three times per week.

Computation of Credit Units

  1. Semester = 15 weeks;
  2. 1 class session = 50 minutes;
  3. 1 credit hour class meets 15 times during the semester. And, a 2 credit hour course will meet 30 times, or twice a week, during the semester.
  4. 50 minutes x 15 weeks = 750 minutes (for 1 credit hour).
  5. 750 minutes ÷ 2 = 375 minutes (for ½ credit hour).

Grading
The alphabet grading system used by educational institutions will receive usage when applicable to evaluate the student. Moreover, it will rely on the completion of course projects and practical assignments in appraising the learner. Also, to reiterate, a significant portion of a learner completing a course will significantly depend on their class attendance.

Course Completion Certificate
A student is awarded a Course Completion Certificate when he or she completes the required assignments for the course.
